DEER PARK, NY (January 2026) — Girls Inc. of Long Island is proud to announce the appointment of Jahidah S. La Roche to its Board of Directors, bringing deep expertise in public health, clinical quality, and community-centered wellness.

Jahidah S. La Roche is a public health strategist, licensed physician assistant, and Assistant Director for Clinical Quality and Reporting at NYU Langone Health. In her role, she leads quality improvement and reporting initiatives across thousands of providers, translating complex healthcare data into clear, actionable insights that improve patient care and outcomes.

She is also the founder of The Happy and Healthy Woman Company, where she partners with schools, health systems, and community organizations to deliver culturally responsive wellness education tied to measurable impact. Her work is rooted in advancing health equity and ensuring that individuals and families have access to practical tools that support everyday well-being.

“Jahidah brings a powerful combination of clinical expertise, data-driven strategy, and a deep commitment to community wellness,” said Dr. Pat Charlemagne, Executive Director of Girls Inc. of Long Island. “Her work aligns closely with our mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold, and we are thrilled to welcome her to our Board.”

Jahidah is a published op-ed author on health equity, including a STAT First Opinion essay, and serves as a guest lecturer at St. John’s University Physician Assistant Program. Her thought leadership centers on improving health outcomes through accessible, culturally relevant approaches that resonate in people’s daily lives.
