Girls Inc. of Long Island’s annual Spring Empowerment Conference is a dynamic, full-day experience designed for middle and high school girls who are ready to grow as Strong, Smart, and Bold leaders.
Through interactive workshops, reflection, and career exploration, girls build the confidence and practical skills they need to navigate friendships, school, and life with self-respect, courage, and purpose.
What Girls Will Experience
Middle School Breakout Workshops
In rotating small-group sessions, participants explore:
- • Knowing Your Worth – Understanding self-respect and how it shapes behavior and choices
- • Standards & Boundaries – Defining personal standards and learning how to uphold them
- • Owning Your Voice – Speaking up with confidence and navigating disagreement respectfully
- • Navigating Friendship & Betrayal – Managing relationship challenges while honoring your values
High School Breakout Workshops
Participants focus on real-world communication and life skills:
- • Communicating with Confidence – Practical tools for handling conflict with peers, partners, friends, and family
- • Bold Life Skills Workshop – An interactive session connecting essential life skills with career readiness and professional growth
Career Speed Mentoring
The day concludes by connecting with women leaders from diverse industries to practice professional communication and explore career pathways.
Hot Topic Reflection Sessions
Girls return to small groups to reflect on what they’ve learned and create a personal action plan. Through guided discussion, participants identify specific goals and next steps to apply their new skills in real-life situations.
