Bold Future Leaders
Our signature high school leadership program for girls in grades 9–12. Open to girls from across Long Island, regardless of whether or not they participate in a school-based program.
Bold Future Leaders
Bold Future Leaders (BFL) is our signature teen leadership program for high school students.
Bold Future Leaders is a teen leadership and career readiness program serving high school girls across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Rooted in the Girls Inc. Experience, the program provides a supportive, girl-centered environment where participants build self-esteem, strengthen leadership identity, explore advocacy, and gain exposure to academic and career pathways.
Through structured workshops in leadership development, financial literacy, and career exploration, participants engage in résumé-building, mock interviews, mentorship, and interactive career panels. Experiential learning opportunities—including site visits and professional engagement—connect learning to real-world applications.
Bold Future Leaders equips young women with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to successfully navigate postsecondary pathways and enter the workforce prepared and empowered.
Girls who regularly participate in BFL receive access to:
- College Scholarships (ranging $1,000-$25,000)
- Access to special Girls Inc. events & networking opportunities
- Opportunity to apply as a Girls Inc. National Brand Ambassador
- Opportunity to apply for the Girls Inc. National Teen Advocacy Council
- Girls Inc. hoodie & other merch
BFL is open to all high school girls across Long Island – no prior Girls Inc. participation required.
This is not a drop-in program. Registrants are expected to attend sessions regularly and fully commit to the program experience.
What Girls Are Saying:
“Girls Inc. has helped me to be more confident and it’s given me a sense of community. With the confidence and courage I have gained as a participant, I speak up against unfairness at work, in my community, and make better choices.” Oni-Ummi, grade 12
“Girls Inc. has completely changed the way I see myself. It’s helped me understand that leadership isn’t just about being in charge—it’s about lifting others up and making a difference in small ways every day. I’ve gained confidence in my abilities and learned to trust my voice. The skills and values I’ve developed through Girls Inc. have shaped me into someone who isn’t afraid to speak up, be kind, and make an impact wherever I go.” – Angelina, grade 12
“Girls Inc. has empowered me to embrace my strengths, advocate for myself, and pursue my goals fearlessly and unapologetically…. being strong, smart, and bold means being able to carry myself in a way that empowers others just as I feel strongly empowered. It means sharing my knowledge with those around me while also protecting myself from the world. It means that I get to be me, LOUDLY, without the fear of judgement.” -Dane, grade 11
“Our facilitator taught us the importance of self-care and how to prioritize our mental well-being. Before joining Girls Inc., I would feel anxious most days. However, after I took part in the meetings, I utilized the skills that I learned to take control back in my life.” – Taylor, grade 12
