“I am delighted to have Ms. Lupardo serve with me in these positions, and to welcome Ms. Canavor and Dr. Weeks to the Board. As we move forward with GILI’s programming and fundraising events, there will be many opportunities for these very talented women to make valuable contributions to GILI’s mission of serving girls on Long Island,” said Dr. Grackin.

Girls Incorporated® of Long Island was founded in 2005 as an affiliate of Girls Incorporated®, an international non-profit youth-serving organization with roots dating back to 1894. GILI’s founders include a diverse group of women who saw the need to bring gender-specific programs to girls on Long Island in order to foster equity and hope for the future.   The organization’s mission is to provide school- and community-based programming to girls aged 6 to 18 in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. GILI has received several grants, and is currently delivering programs for girls in Suffolk County aimed at preventing substance abuse and fostering financial literacy.
