INSPIRING ALL GIRLS TO BE STRONG, SMART and BOLD
Girls Incorporated® of Long Island was founded in 2005 as an affiliate of the nationally recognized Girls Incorporated®, a non-profit organization serving only girls with roots dating back to 1894. Girls Inc. responds to the changing needs of girls and their communities through implementation of research-based programs and advocacy that empower girls to reach their full potential and to understand, value, and assert their rights. Girls Incorporated® of Long Island founders included a diverse group of women who saw the need to bring gender-specific programs to the girls on Long Island in order to foster equity and hope for the future.
